Delivery & returns

Dispatch times

  • Orders placed Mon–Thursday before 12:00 usually ship same day.

  • Orders placed after 12:00 Friday or on Sat/Sun ship Monday (next working day).

Delivery services & timing

  • UK Mainland: DPD Next Day (weekday service).

  • Friday/Remote/offshore: typically 48–72h. by Royal Mail Timeframes are estimates; Bank Holidays and courier issues can add time.

Delivery & safe-place policy (DPD – UK Mainland)

  • Default is DPD Next Day (Food Service). If you’re not in, the driver may leave in a safe place or with a neighbour at their discretion (photo + GPS scan). This helps avoid live products sitting in a warm depot over a weekend.

  • If you don’t have a safe place, or prefer a shop pickup, use the DPD app/SMS link as soon as tracking arrives to add instructions.

  • Once DPD has delivered to your address, designated safe place or neighbour and provided proof of delivery, the parcel is considered delivered. Please unpack and refrigerate promptly.

Friday dispatches

To avoid weekend delays and weekend surcharges, small Friday orders may ship Royal Mail Tracked (24/48). These services include delivery scans and tracking; typical timing is 1–2 working days. As always, refrigerate on arrival.

Important: please don’t reject a delivery

Rejected parcels can spoil on return; we can’t refund rejected deliveries. Accept the parcel, then contact us if there’s an issue within 48 hours with photos so we can put it right.

Free delivery & charges

  • UK Mainland: Free delivery on orders £50+.

  • UK Mainland under £50: £5.95 flat rate.

  • Highlands & Islands / NI / IoM / Channel Islands: £8.95 flat rate. Free delivery may not apply to these areas.

Live fermented products in transit

Our ferments are preserved, so it’s fine if they aren’t refrigerated during transit, get a little warm, or are left in a safe place briefly. On arrival, remove outer packaging and refrigerate for storage.

A note about leakage

Live cultures release CO₂, which can push a little brine out in transit. This is normal and doesn’t affect best-before. Unpack carefully, rinse, and chill.

Damaged or missing items

If anything arrives broken or missing, email hello@belleandherbs.farm with photos within 48 hours. We’ll replace or refund affected items.

Change-of-mind cancellations (perishables)

Because our products are perishable and must be kept chilled, the usual 14-day cooling-off right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations does not apply once we’ve dispatched your order. This doesn’t affect your rights if something arrives damaged, unsafe or not as described—in those cases we’ll put it right in line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Please email hello@belleandherbs.farm within 48 hours of delivery with photos so we can sort it.

Change-of-mind (non-perishables only)

You have 14 days from delivery to cancel for any reason. To cancel, either email us a clear statement or use our Model Cancellation Form. If you cancel, you must send the goods back within 14 days of telling us. We’ll refund you within 14 days of receiving the goods (or proof of return), including the basic delivery cost. Items must be unused and in re-saleable condition.
